Research Overview

I am a postgraduate researcher in the Department of Educational Research at Lancaster University, currently pursuing a PhD in e-Research and Technology-Enhanced Learning. My research critically investigates Professional Development in Digital Transformation Initiatives in Education, with a particular focus on the experiences of faculty members and institutional change within the UK education sector. My work draws on Cultural-Historical Activity Theory (CHAT) to explore how professional development practices adapt in response to rapid digital technological innovation in education.

With over two decades of international experience spanning education, leadership, and digital innovation, I bring a unique global perspective to my research. I currently work as a Business and Digital Skills Lecturer at Capel Manor College, where I lead curriculum design, deliver vocational and digital courses, and drive strategic initiatives to enhance institutional capacity for digital transformation. My teaching and leadership roles across Further and Higher Education settings have informed my deep interest in inclusive, technology-enhanced learning environments.

My published research includes an evaluative case study titled "Contradictions and strategies: an evaluative case study of digital technology use in a UK land-based educational institution through the lens of Cultural Historical Activity Theory". This work explores how tensions within educational institutions influence the integration of digital technologies and professional development strategies.

My academic journey is rooted in a strong interdisciplinary foundation, including postgraduate qualifications in ICT in Education, Leadership and Management, and Project Management. I remain committed to advancing inclusive, sustainable approaches to educational innovation through both research and practice.
